As a kid I loved playing the piano but I didn’t enjoy lessons with my strict piano teacher. After a few years of grinding through classes my parents got tired of struggling with me and finally let me end my lessons - a common occurrence in the world of kids and piano.  Years later I wished I had continued with those lessons, but they had been so dull! Then, in 2008, I discovered Simply Music and my excitement for the piano was rekindled.

My path back to the piano came through working as an Alexander Technique teacher of Somatic Education (alexandertechniqueusa.org). During those years as an Alexander Teacher I worked with many musicians, helping them find new freedom in their playing. One day, one of my pianists introduced me to the Simply Music Piano Method. It sounded great and I jumped at the opportunity to learn in this new way. Soon my enthusiasm for the piano was renewed and I found that I was actually having fun playing both in and out of my lessons! This inspired me to go through the teacher training program, and in 2009 I become an accredited Simply Music Teacher.

Now I have students ranging from young kids to adults, and all of them can sit at the piano and play a wide variety of music with skill and feeling.  As a teacher, I'm thrilled with their success.  This way of learning is fun, gets great results, and motivates me to keep offering the gift of music to my students..
